53 BOP
test check.
Connects the design to the field test, for the accumulator tests in API Std 53. Predict the drawdown result from your 16D model, record what the rig measured, and file one record that links the two.
For: rig crews, subsea engineers, contractor technical teams, independent verifiers.
Example surface bank: 10 × 15 gal bottles, 1,000 psi design precharge at 70 °F, 3,000 psi system, ideal gas, pumps off. Acceptance shown as end pressure at least 200 psi above precharge; precharge band ±5 %. The module applies the criteria and clauses of the edition you select.
The design and the field test, in one record.
The 16D calculation says what the accumulators should do. The API 53 test shows what they actually did. The test check puts the two side by side, so a drifting precharge or a tired bottle shows up as a gap between prediction and measurement, not as a surprise.
- Predicted drawdownThe end pressure of the accumulator drawdown test, predicted from your 16D model.
- Recorded against predictedRecords the test result and compares it with the prediction and the acceptance criteria.
- Temperature-corrected prechargePrecharge checks corrected for the temperature on the day of the check.
- A record ready to fileLinked to the design calculation it verifies.
